Georgia Scenic Routes

The 170-mile trip along Georgia's Colonial Coast runs west from Tybee Island to Savannah, and then south to Saint Marys, encountering creeks, rivers, estuaries, and marshes.  East of South Newport lies Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge, a 2,700-acre salt marsh that is home to waterfowl, deer, raccoons, possums, and minks.  Travelers can drive through the refuge's 15 miles of trail to get a firsthand look at the native wildlife.  More information about scenic roads in Georgia is available on this America's Byways: Georgia page.
